 | | | | | | As practitioners engaged in creating positive social change in our organizations, communities and societies, we often don't know what we already know. Rarely do we take the time to reflect on our own experiences, harvest and document our learnings, check the fit between what we espouse and how we behave, or make what we know available to ourselves and others. Thus, what we know that has not yet been expressed - our tacit knowledge - is a great, untapped resource in each one of us that is just waiting to be discovered and shared with others. The process of making our tacit knowledge more explicit and available to ourselves and others is greatly accelerated in reflective communities. It is in community that we can tell our own stories, build on the stories of others, respond to the questions and challenges of our peers, and hear ourselves saying things we didn't even know we knew. This is where the work done in The Commons really pays off, as community members know how to share what they know in a safe and caring environment. Discover Space is a virtual workspace where reflective community practitioners tell stories, make meaning, share resources, and capture key concepts. | | | | | |
